The Glasgow Works Employability Programme is an integrated delivery system, providing a ‘whole needs’ approach to the issues and barriers encountered by workless and disadvantaged clients.  It is a co-ordinated programme of inter-related activities aimed at addressing the very specific labour market challenges in Glasgow.

The delivery of the Programme was publicly tendered and won by the 5 Local Regeneration Agencies (LRAs).  Delivery began in July 2008 and the programme will run until June 2011.  The Programme supports the following target groups:

    • Clients on Incapacity Benefit
    • Ethnic Minorities
    • Lone Parents
    • More Choices More Chances (MCMC)
    • Long Term unemployed

Details of progress against targets are available through the link on the left.

The programme is financed through a number of sources including:

    • The Fairer Scotland Fund (FSF)
    • The European Social Fund (ESF)
    • The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
    • Glasgow City Council (GCC)

The programme is managed by a small team based in Development and Regeneration Services (DRS).
