The Glasgow Works Employer Engagement Team aims to support employers by creating a smarter, more streamlined approach to recruitment, which meets the needs of businesses.
Our employability service can assist with vacancy filling, job retention, in-work progression, diversity and equalities. This comprehensive service is designed to make it easier for employers to engage with Public Sector programmes and maximise opportunities for Glasgow residents.
The Employer Engagement Team works closely with the business community across Glasgow, offering tailored recruitment solutions to fit the requirements of a variety of organisations and sectors; small, medium or large.
The Team has built up close working relationships with other employer organisations across the city to ensure that businesses can work with a single contact who can explain the range of services available.
This has included direct working with Jobcentre Plus, the Local Regeneration Agencies, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, the Glasgow Employer Coalition, Skills Development Scotland, and many more partner organisations.
Through partnership working and by always seeking to surpass an employer’s expectations, the team will deliver a comprehensive service, at no cost to the business. We can ensure applicants are effectively screened for suitability, we will work to your specific requirements, and some of the services we can offer include:
- telephone applications or interviews,
- distribution and collection of application forms or CV’s on your behalf.
- We can carry out first stage interviews using criteria agreed with yourself
- deliver aftercare support to ensure the sustainability of employees in the first few weeks and months in work.
Depending on your specific requirements, the team can also organise open days or information days for potential applicants, providing premises, if necessary. Specialist advice is available about equality and diversity including the development of a kite mark / charter in recognition of business achievement and excellence in this area. We will work with employers to raise awareness of the benefits to recruit ethnic minorities and promote a diverse workforce.
We can explore opportunities to fund training courses in relation to specific roles or industries with training organisations.
To date, the team and its partners have helped over 3000 Glasgow residents into employment and this has been a result of ongoing employer engagement.
